How to Really Understand People?

Hello guys, today I guest my day not so good. Some people I know like try to escape from me and I don't know the reason. He quite a hot tempered person, by the language he use we could know that he disagree with us. It's hard to deal with them but not to mention I'm a kind of person that hard to express my feeling through word.

Then I try search on how to deal with this kind of people and I found this interesting way to deal with them. Try using this 3 simple approach: detach, disassociate and diffuse.

  • Detach: Just stay calm. Don't use angry words or reacting with emotions such as crying because that will only stimulate them to do more of the difficult behavior.
  • Disassociate: Remove yourself from the situation and treat it with indifference or no interest with the situation. At any circumstances, please don't bad talk to their face or to anyone else because then you are sinking down to their level. Add something positive by redirection such as by focusing on something, anything, positive in the situation or in the conversation. Whatever you do just stay calm(refer first point)!
  • Diffuse: It can help to realize that the side of a conversation that contains the most truth will always win out, and it's best to "name the game" that an impossible person is playing, usually by asking them or the group a question that starts "Why...," (rephrasing their "impossible" position to illuminate the consequences). You will move the conversation to a higher level, and the group, or even just the impossible individual, in a one-on-one, will respond to this "higher truth," although the individual will usually respond by (more) obfuscating(actually i don't really understand this point, but in short I don't really like it because it like play with fire)
I'm really agree with the first two point and the third point still MUST be used in some circumstances. But, just like human, we make mistakes. Try to hear others opinion and used it to improve your personality. Although I still know in this real world, speak become easier than do it and sometimes we always though what we do is definitely correct (that's why we do it right?). Not to mention some ego that make we more hard to apologize.

Life must go on, whether we accept it or not. I try to become myself and at the same times I also try to make sure people surrounding me does't get hurt by me. (in term of word, behavior and sometimes appearance I think).
